Onoto

Onoto Minor Fountain Pen
When I first opened this blue brick pattern 1930s fountain pen I thought that the red ripple nib section was incorrect only to find on investigation that Onoto often did this to these neat “Minor” plunger fill fountain pens. The rear button is inscribed 924 C9 and the pen is in excellent condition after a careful service. The DLR nib is also inscribed as a size 22.

Parker Vacumatic [USA] Fountain Pen
This USA Parker “Vacumatic “ fountain pen , with cap and barrel in mint condition, has the number “0” impressed in the normal position on the barrel.  Coupled with the chevron pattern cap band one might conclude that 1950 was the date of manufacture and yet the “blue diamond” decoration is clear on the clip hints at a much earlier date. The fine 14 carat gold nib is inscribed “Parker Pen ,made in USA, .2.”

Parker “45 GT” Fountain Pen

This fountain pen from the 1960s is much underrated.  Being something of a budget pen it can be overlooked, and yet these pens are easy to use and write well. A
varied stock is usually available with the one shown having a 14ct medium gold nib and gold filled cap.

Parker Duofold “Big Red” Fountain Pen

This fully serviced example in red “Permanite” is a USA “Senior” from Parker`s Duofold range of the 1920s. It is in good clean order with the quoted price reflecting a short stable crack between replated cap band and lip and a minor flaw at the rear of the Duofold 14 carat nib.  The clip and nib after restoration sold alone would carry a total price in the region of £70.

Slip caps for Onoto Plunger Filler

The 3 caps shown were made on the lathe in hard rubber. The tricky bit in the lathe work is the thin wall of these caps, and the correct hard rubber used for this jib is very brittle and keen to crack.
